#3 Practice: Get specific, start a plan

Homework: Developing and writing out the micro steps to accomplish each week that will allow you to reach a specific goal in 12 weeks. ( reach out for more details if needed)

Example: lose 12lbs in 12 weeks.

Micro steps: (to be accomplished within 12 weeks)

1) consult a nutrition expert, dietitian, etc.

2) food prep each Sunday

3) research and cook 1 new recipe every Sunday.

4) walk 30 minutes every day

Another example: Write a book

1) Write an outline (completed by week 4)

2) Write 10-20 mins daily, preferably in the morning

3) Take an online writing course

4) No extra reading during this time unless for purely joy.

Bonus: Write out your story! Starting from your earliest memory begin to write your life’s story. Write it out however it comes out and however it naturally feels. Maybe it’s a narrative, a counseling session or just stats, details and dates. Allow the memories and emotions to stir a little. What will you uncover and discover? If anything jumps out make sure to take extra note of it. If there is a lot of trauma surrounding your story, could this be a ceremony of expression, healing and moving on in whatever direction is needed?

During the last meeting each of us shared a big goal or two and then reframed it into action steps to take with us for the next 12 weeks. Everyone has something to offer and a unique gift however almost all of us are limiting ourselves because we are feeling self-conscious about stepping out and up and what others might think or say about us.

Of course we know better, but it still doesn’t change that feeling that is oh so common. If the goal and desires are burning hot enough life will find a way to get us there. Sometimes it may show up in ways that we don’t personally like or feel good about but in some ways it is destiny. The sooner we can learn to listen and take the right steps on our path the quicker those things can show up in our lives. Think of it like resistance training with weights. We get stronger from the struggle right?? Growth is uncomfortable at first and stretches us. Practice inner flexibility and keep going!

But this isn’t about taking my word for it, it’s about testing it on yourself. You are your greatest investment, take care of yourself and live the life of your dreams!
